We Swear

I don’t have enough time to write all that pops into my head, but these points:

- I like Palin.  A bumper sticker at Treachers says “McCain / MILF 08″.  I LOL’d.

- Thinking long term, she’ll be VP through 2012, then PotUS for 2016 & 2020.  She should pickup Bobby Jindal for VP, then he will be PotUS for 2024 & 2028.  That results in some good leadership for 20+ years.  That would be cool.  Assuming, of course, that these Republicans don’t do like nearly every other Republican and immediately begin pandering to the Democrats…..  That’s sad.

- The Mayor of my city (my, the city) of Detroit has finally given up.  I’m happy about that.  4 months in jail for 10 felonies.  That’s kinda light, IMO.  In his resignation speech, he just said that he now has been setup for a comeback.  What an arrogant fuck.  The depth of the corruption and scandal within the city may never be known.  But he messed up careers and probably had people killed.  Now he gets 4 months and is planning a comeback.  That’s sad.

The real problem with politics in the US is that we citizens are too busy with our lives and we don’t get involved in politics.  The net result is that we watch TV too and our politicians gradually make the government bigger and our freedoms smaller.  We really only have ourselves to blame and our parents are leaving us with less than they had.  And we’re leaving our kids with less than we had.  That’s sad.
